Visiting campus is important to see if a university is right for you, and we want to give you and your family that opportunity. During this event, you and one guest will get to see how our tight-knit community of first-generation college students and those from limited financial resources shine on campus and the support they have to thrive academically and socially.

Travel Assistance Details

We are providing travel assistance to all students admitted to Senior Fly-In. It is intended for students who identify as first-generation or come from a family with limited financial resources. Our goal is to bring students to campus who are considering Hopkins as their first choice and have not yet had the chance to visit in person or want to gain a deeper understanding of student life in our home in Baltimore.

We also recognize how important family is in the college search and application process and want to give them the chance to experience Hopkins too. For this reason, our program includes travel assistance for one guest.

Students accepted into this program will be provided transportation by train or plane to Baltimore on the afternoon/evening of Sunday, October 12, and return home on Monday, October 13, after the program.

  • Hopkins will provide hotel accommodation on Sunday, October 12. Per hotel policy, students are required to bring one parent, guardian, or other guest over the age of 21 with whom they can share a room.
  • Hopkins will cover travel and meal expenses for both the student and their guest throughout the two-day program.
  • Hopkins will contact admitted students directly and facilitate and book all travel. Students should NOT book travel on their own as we will be unable to reimburse them.

Space is limited for the program, and acceptance or non-acceptance is not an indicator of admissibility to Johns Hopkins University. Your application to Hopkins will not be negatively impacted if you are unable to attend the program. Students not granted admission can still attend other on-campus programs
