Community Engagement & Service
Hopkins students are active citizens of Baltimore, working side-by-side with community partners.
Baltimore is more than our city—it’s an extension of our campus. You and your classmates will learn and build your lives here, together. Becoming active in the local community is the best way to put your unique skills to use and contribute to our hometown. By working alongside our neighbors, you’ll experience new ways of thinking, create a sense of community, and develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be an engaged citizen.
Nicole R., '25I split my time between the Education and Outreach team and the Asylum Advocacy team at Asylee Women Enterprise. These rewarding interactions sharpened my cultural competence and allowed me to practice my Spanish and French. I made lasting friendships, discussing sports and history for hours, and am grateful for these enriching experiences.
