Community Engagement & Service

Hopkins students are active citizens of Baltimore, working side-by-side with community partners.

Baltimore is more than our city—it’s an extension of our campus. You and your classmates will learn and build your lives here, together. Becoming active in the local community is the best way to put your unique skills to use and contribute to our hometown. By working alongside our neighbors, you’ll experience new ways of thinking, create a sense of community, and develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be an engaged citizen.

I love Baltimore. I love the city, and the community is extremely civically engaged and passionate and dedicated. There’s a lot to learn from that.
