Life in Baltimore
A campus in the city and of the city.
We’re proudly based in Baltimore, Maryland, a city steeped in history, culture, and small-town charm. Whether you’re catching an Orioles game at Camden Yards or browsing the largest collection of Matisse paintings in the world, Baltimore’s vibrancy will stay with you long after your time at Hopkins. And because it’s so affordable and easy to navigate, many students choose to live here as they start their careers.
Alex N., '23Baltimore is a city that has people from all over so you get to learn about a lot of different experiences. As a student, I love the ease of access to all the different parts of the city. I can be at the campus and then all the way downtown in 20 minutes for free. There’s tons to do and a ton of transportation to go do it.

Outstanding Internship Opportunities
There’s no shortage of internships or jobs in this rich and diverse city. From healthcare and sports to tech and defense, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to expand your skills and make connections for the future. The entrepreneurial spirit is strong here—Baltimore is the site of $1 billion in venture capital investment and home to incubators like Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures and our Social Innovation Lab.
At the Center of Everything
Baltimore has all the perks of a major thoroughfare, including easily accessible transportation. Our students regularly visit up and down the East Coast with the Amtrak and bus system. By car, we’re only 20 minutes from BWI Airport, 45 minutes from DC, two hours from Philly, and four hours from NYC.
