Hopkins Alumni Representatives Council (HARC)
HARC is a group of dedicated alumni volunteers who help the Office of Undergraduate Admissions build the next generation of Blue Jays.
There’s no better ambassador for Hopkins than someone who has lived and learned here firsthand! We invite you to share your undergraduate experience with prospective students and families at information sessions, college fairs, and admitted student events virtually or in your area. You may also choose to be featured in our marketing materials.
HARC membership requirements
- Be nominated for the position
- Work or attend graduate school full-time
- Be enthusiastic about sharing your Hopkins undergraduate experience
- Be comfortable with public speaking
- Participate in a virtual messaging training
- This training is waived for alumni who were Blue Key Society members as undergraduates.
- Agree to attend 2+ engagement opportunities, including events with our admissions counselors or feature profiles in our marketing materials
How to Join HARC
- Request a nomination from any staff or faculty member in any Homewood department.
- The nominator should be someone you know or worked closely with as a Hopkins undergrad and can provide helpful information about why you would make a great ambassador for Hopkins.
- Please have your nominator email us at harc_admissions@jhu.edu with your full name, email address, and graduation year.
- Confirm your participation in our member agreement form.
- After receiving your nomination, the HARC team will contact you with more information about the program and send you a form to confirm your membership.
- Complete mandatory HARC training.
- Before participating in any events, you must attend a virtual messaging training and read any training materials. The training lasts about an hour. We will provide multiple dates/times for the virtual training—you only need to attend one.
