Visiting in person can be an immersive way to get a sense of a school’s community and its match for you, but we know it’s not always possible to take that summer college trip. With internships and jobs and family vacations and volunteering, those three months seem to fly by. Our annual Virtual Summer Open House is one day to learn everything you need to know about Hopkins no matter your summer plans.

Here are five reasons to attend:

1. Discover our majors

Our flexible curriculum allows our students to forge unique academic pathways. Whether you have a clear interest in mind or are looking to grow in a new direction, attending our academic panels will give you an inside view of how our students engage in academic life on campus and beyond.

2. Picture life here

We’ll take a deep dive into some of the most important parts of life in our community. You’ll learn about our home of Baltimore City, our residential campus environment, and how Hopkins students explore their interests outside the classroom and make an impact through student engagement.

3. Bring your team

One of the best parts about a virtual event? No seating limits! We know the college search process is a team effort—your friends, family, and others supporting you play significant roles in helping you find the best school for you. Gather the group around your screen and learn about our community together.

4. Meet our Blue Jays

Our students take advantage of all that Hopkins has to offer—and they’re excited to share their experiences with you! Across our interactive sessions, our students will discuss learning beyond the classroom, finding community in student organizations, and discovering their interests at our university.

5. Prepare for the next step

Get familiar with what we look for in applicants as we build our campus community and get an overview of our approach to financial aid and affordability. We’ll share tips and resources to help you prepare no matter where you are in your college search.

There are many ways to learn more about the colleges on your list, and your time off from school is a great opportunity to develop your college plans. We hope you’ll join us virtually for our Summer Open House—from wherever the summer takes you.
