Direct Matriculation Program: Master’s in International Health

The Direct Matriculation Program: Master’s in International Health (formerly Global Health Studies) allows qualified students with a strong interest in public health to pursue a combined bachelor’s/master’s degree from the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences (our undergraduate school) and the prestigious Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (our graduate school).
International Health Master’s Programs

Máster en Salud Pública (MSPH)
The MSPH training program is intended for students who want more focused skills in a specific field of public health. Some prior health and/or international experience is preferred. Students complete up to two additional years after undergrad, for six years total.

Máster en Ciencias de la Salud (MHS)
El MHS en Economía de la Salud Global es un programa de nueve meses que proporciona a los estudiantes los conocimientos necesarios para utilizar herramientas económicas en la promoción de estilos de vida saludables y resultados sanitarios positivos. Los estudiantes completan hasta un año adicional después de la licenciatura, por un total de cinco años.

Cómo solicitarlo
All first-year applicants, regardless of intended major, are welcome to apply to the DMP: Master’s in International Health. You must indicate you are applying to this program on your undergraduate application under the Hopkins Supplemental Questions section. You may only apply for admission to one DMP.
After you submit your admissions application, you must submit a short essay in response to the prompt in your applicant portal.

Identify a global health issue and outline a solution to a key underlying problem. Please answer in 300–400 words.

Programa y requisitos
- Mantener un promedio de 3,3 al final de los años junior y senior.
- Obtener un mínimo de una B en cada uno de estos cursos: Fundamentos de Epidemiología, Bioestadística de Salud Pública y Principios y Prácticas de Salud Global.
- Obtener una nota mínima de notable en un curso de antropología/sociología, un curso de economía/finanzas/gestión y un curso de biología.
- Complete a summer experience in a low- or middle-income country, or work locally with migrant or underserved populations prior to starting the MSPH. Please describe the applicable experience that you completed during your undergraduate studies. Be sure to include the organization you worked with, your position/role, dates you completed the experience, duration of the experience, and a brief description of your work/responsibilities, including how it contributed to your ability to communicate and work successfully with people from different cultural backgrounds.

Students who are admitted to the DMP as undergraduate applicants are guaranteed admission into the Bloomberg School of Public Health program if they maintain the required academic standards and complete the necessary undergraduate courses.
