Breaking Down the College Search
Application Workshops at JHU
On selected dates this summer, Johns Hopkins admissions counselors will be hosting special workshops just for high school students who are starting the college search process. Join us on the Homewood campus for a chance to hear directly from our admissions staff and ask questions. Sessions will help students get started on their college search and begin thinking more critically about the search and application processes. Through examples and thought exercises, workshop attendees will learn how an effective college search can aid them in developing an application that best demonstrates their strength and match with an institution.
Please note: Application workshops are for students only.
All workshops take place on the Homewood campus.

- Navigating the college search process from the beginning
- Selecting schools that best meet your goals and needs
- ”Making the Match” and what that means to you
- Conducting an effective college search
- The college application process from both the student perspective and admissions committee perspective
These events are focused on helping you prepare for the application process for competitive colleges like Johns Hopkins. Whether you’re just starting to think about your college search or already have questions we can answer, we hope you’ll join us for this unique opportunity to learn from admissions professionals.
Note: These application workshops are designed to help students who are beginning their college search process and will include general tips on preparing for the application process. Attendance at an application workshop at Hopkins will have no bearing on a student’s application should an attendee choose to apply to Johns Hopkins.
