| 40) Space Telescope Institute The Space Telescope Science Institute was set up by NASA to analyze data from the Hubble Space Telescope. A team of Hopkins researchers working at the institute also designed and built a new component for Hubble that increased its efficiency by a factor of 10. The institute has so many computers that the heat they generate is used to keep the building warm in the winter. |
