The heart of our campus

If you've seen a picture of the Homewood campus, you've probably seen historic Gilman Hall. Its prime location in the center of campus and its dramatic clock tower make this flagship building, home to the humanities departments, a favorite for many. After an extensive three-year renovation, Gilman reopened in August 2010 to a much-improved, warmer version of itself. A favorite campus study spot, the Hutzler Reading Room (or, as students and faculty know it, "the Hut"), offers students great natural lighting in an inviting space, while the new atrium and relocated archeological museum transform Gilman back into a social and academic hub for undergraduates.
