Tabitha M.
Class of 2011
Read my guest blogs
Hometown: Oxford, England
Major/Minor: Public health studies and philosophy double major, bioethics minor
Current residence: Charles Commons
Campus involvement: Active Minds, PAWS, and SAAB
Why I chose Johns Hopkins: I visited the campus, and I really liked it. I enjoyed the atmosphere most.
Favorite class: Bioethics. Professor Bok is a brillaint lecturer and I really enjoy going to class every week.
What is the biggest difference between high school and Johns Hopkins that you have experienced? To borrow a good phrase I heard, "You're on the clock 24/7." At college you are constantly doing things.
Favorite spot on the Homewood campus: There is a tree on the Upper Quad that I like to sit under and work. It is relaxing, but surrounded by people and is is my favorite spot on campus so far.
Why I am glad I chose to attend Johns Hopkins: I have a great group of friends already. I'm enjoying my classes and I'm already looking forward to next semester.
Three unusual things about myself:
- I used to be fluent in Italian but now I can barely speak a word.
- Apparently, being from the UK makes me unusual, although I'm sure there are a few million people who would disagree.
- I eat large amounts of cereal.
