Class of 2011
Read my guest blogs
Hometown: Barrington, IL
Major/Minor: Mechanical Engineering major; French minor
Current residence: AMR II
Campus involvement: Women's basketball team, Baja SAE, Engineers Without Borders, Habitat for Humanity, Society of Women Engineers
Why I chose Johns Hopkins: The minute I stepped on campus, I fell in love with it. Hopkins has everything I was looking for in a college: great academic reputation, fun social scence, and the oppurtunity to continue to play basketball.
Favorite class: French Conversation and Composition. There are only 11 of us. We read a ton of different articles concerning France's history and current affairs, and then we discuss them in class.
What myth about Johns Hopkins frustrates you the most? "There is no time for fun at Hopkins!" This is so not true!!!
Favorite spot on the Homewood campus: A lot of my friends and I love sitting out on the benches in front of AMR II. Whenever I go out there, there are tons of people sitting and talking; it's just a lot of fun!
Why I am glad I chose to attend Johns Hopkins: Hopkins has really become the perfect college for me. I have met so many amazing people, some of whom I am probably going to know for the rest of my life.
Three unusual things about myself:
- I was born in Dublin, Ireland, and lived there until I was 12.
- I have three middle names: Bridget Dorothy Catherine.
- I went to the North Pole when I was 10 to visit Santa.
