Why I chose Johns Hopkins: Despite Hopkins' urban environment in Baltimore, there is still a beautiful campus instead of a series of buildings on the city streets. Being from a city, remaining in an urban setting is very important to me.
Favorite class: History of 20th-Century China, taught by Professor William Rowe. Every class he begins by writing Chinese characters on the board relevant to what we are learning that day.
What myth about Johns Hopkins frustrates you the most? Hopkins is a school where the students are not so much competitive with each other as they are with themselves. I have never ever studied for an exam by myself, ever. Students constantly work together.
Why I am glad I chose to attend Johns Hopkins: I am just really happy here. Lame answer, but true!
My favorite Johns Hopkins memory so far: It has to be seeing the Hopkins Blue Jays take the NCAA National Championship in lacrosse by defeating Duke in front of tens of thousands of fans.
Three unusual things about myself:
- I pick the raisins out of oatmeal raisin cookies.
- I have approximately 65 pairs of shoes (last I checked).
- I have a weakness for sappy sports movies (which would explain why I love Miracle and Remember the Titans).
