So it's 30 years after graduation. We posed the question and came up with 10 things you'll remember about Hopkins 30 years from now.

  1. Paper Moon Diner at 3 a.m.
  2. Being lazy on the Beach
  3. Class. At least we hope you remember class.
  4. Lacrosse games
  5. Watching students play golf during Dr. Hamilton's lecture
  6. A light always being on, at any time, in Mudd Hall
  7. Watching people playing cricket on the Upper Quad
  8. Orientation
  9. The snow in Baltimore. Whether you're from the North or the South, seeing the campus covered in a blanket of snow is magical.
  10. Exactly where your freshman dorm room was. Though in 30 years it might have been renovated.

Admittedly, most people have some studying to do on any given Tuesday night. But if you finish early or (gasp!) have none, here's 10 things to fill a Tuesday.

  2. Order pizza from Domino's (Buy 1 get 1 free)
  3. Listen to an MSE symposium speaker
  4. Go to the climbing wall
  5. Take a swim
  6. Take the Collegetown shuttle to Towson for some shopping
  7. Visit the National Aquarium
  8. Go to an Orioles game
  9. Go to the Rotunda and catch a movie
  10. Go hang out on the Beach (weather permitting)

Top 10 Ways to Experience Hopkins from Afar
So you want to know what Hopkins is like but you live in Saskatchewan and can't come to visit. Here are 10 helpful things to do to experience Hopkins from afar.

  1. Put on your Hopkins hoodie and cheer for the Hopkins lacrosse team. Games are broadcast on ESPNU.
  2. Eat some really good crabs.
  3. Travel into your basement to read a book. Our library is underground so you'd better get used to it.
  4. Start spouting the Hopkins-specific acronyms. AMR, IFP, BME, IR. Your friends will think you're speaking in code.
  5. Experience the Hopkins message boards. Start chatting with your classmates before you meet them in person.
  6. Scowl when anyone pronounces it "John Hopkins."
  7. Run up and down marble steps in the rain. Get the practice in early; slipping on the stairs should be done alone, not in public.
  8. Drink a lot of coffee. When writing papers it's a useful skill.
  9. Start doing research. Two-thirds of students here do it, so why not get a head start?
  10. Look at maps of Hopkins. When you get here all your new friends will be surprised at how you know where Bloomberg, Olin, and Whitehead halls are.

  4. Coordinator of the Student Success Series in the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs
  5. Consultant in the Hopkins Academic Computing lab
  6. Office intern for the Center for Social Concern
  7. Phonathon, where you get to talk on the phone for hours and ask for money
